For those that don’t know how your calories are made up:
1gram protein = 4 calories
1gram carbs = 4 calories
1gram fat = 9 calories
1gram alcohol = 7 calories
Because alcohol is high in its sugar, it has a high calorie amount. Difference between the alcohol and the other 3 is that your body isn’t able to use any of it! You either dispose of it or store it as unnecessary bodyfat.
With fats, although they are higher in calories, you still need your good portion of good fats. By good fats we mean poly and mono unsaturated fats. They don’t prevent, but definitely do help in preventing heart diseases and even metabolizing bad fats!
